How the daily puzzle works.
A date determines its puzzle, so players opening the same calendar date receive the same starting grid. Today follows the local date on your device. Friends in different time zones may see different dates near midnight; use the archive to select a matching date if you want to compare the same challenge.
The daily puzzle has one solution, and its displayed difficulty can vary from day to day. That label uses the same logical rating as classic play. Easy uses naked singles, Medium adds hidden singles, and Hard adds locked candidates and naked pairs. Expert needs techniques beyond those supported checks. You cannot change the difficulty of a particular daily board.

Choose Browse previous puzzles below the daily button to open the calendar. The free archive covers 1 January 2026 through your current local date. Move between months and select a date to open its challenge. Future puzzles are unavailable.
Calendar markers distinguish puzzles you have completed from those still in progress. Switching between daily dates preserves their saved boards, and your classic game has separate saved progress. You can work on yesterday’s puzzle, try today’s, and come back to finish the earlier one.
Make the session fit your day.
You can use Notes, Undo, Check and the hint coach during a daily game, just as in classic play. A hint begins with a nudge and lets you choose whether to see an explanation or place the digit. The coach teaches naked and hidden singles; more advanced steps may offer an explicit answer reveal.
Focus mode gives the puzzle more room, and Settings lets you hide the timer. Hiding it does not stop elapsed playing time from recording. Pause when you step away; the timer also stops while the page is hidden. There is no requirement to finish a puzzle in one sitting.
Understand your progress and streak.
The archive marks a completed puzzle on its original puzzle date. Your activity streak follows the date you actually finish a game. Finishing several older daily puzzles today therefore counts as one active day, not several earlier days. Classic completions also count toward activity.
Player statistics include games completed with hints. They belong to your browser and are not a verified leaderboard. After finishing, Copy result lets you copy the puzzle date, difficulty, elapsed time and hint count without including the answers. Nothing is posted automatically.
Keep your saved board within reach.
Progress saves in browser storage on this website. Return using the same browser and website address to resume it. There is no account or cloud sync, so another phone or browser will not automatically have your saved games.
Clearing website data can remove progress and statistics. Private browsing, blocked storage or a full storage area can affect saving; the game reports a storage problem beside its controls. If another tab updates a game, the older tab pauses and offers to reload the latest saved version.
